Phoenix civil rights attorney Sean Woods said the U.S Supreme Court decision could lead to racial profiling.
“I don’t want to use the term slippery slope, but it is,” said Woods. “I think we could see some sort of determination that racial profiling is OK, given the climate we are currently in.”
Immigration Attorney Hector Quiroga said the ruling is supposed to be limited to California, but he would not be surprised to see ICE agents use these tactics in Arizona and other states.
“If I was an attorney for the government, for ICE, and we would be doing raids I definitely would go to precedent by Supreme Court saying these factors were OK and 9th district in California case therefore should be ok here,” said Quiroga.
